mædical™

mædical™ is an antimicrobial treatment that is applied to the carpet fibres of our Healthcare Collection. The concept of the mædical™ technology is based on ‘intelligent’ or functional microbial protection that reaches personalised performance built around freshness, comfort, hygiene or in other words well being.

mædical™ is a revolutionary technology that guarantees optimum active freshness and active hygiene for textiles, even after intensive use and frequent cleaning. The mædical™ technology is based on the fixation of a non-migrating permanent nano-coating on the fibres. The nano-coating is specially designed to deactivate microorganisms.

mædical™ is important for anyone needing to either eliminate odours or increase health protection. It is ideal for sectors where carpeting is used near or around food and drink, such as in the healthcare and hospitality sectors.

The benefits of mædical™ technology
• Long lasting freshness
• Eliminates the smells created by yeast, fungus and bacteria in carpets
• Controls or eliminates microbial staining.
• Eliminates dust mites
• Reduces the risk of cross contamination.

Difficil-S

Carpets play a key role in the creation of a therapeutic and domestic environment within care home facilities, but it’s essential that they are regularly cleaned to minimise the spread of infection.

danfloor is the only carpet manufacturer to be approved and nominated as a partner of Difficil-S®, a powerful and revolutionary broad spectrum disinfectant that has a 5-log reduction of 99.999% and which kills all known pathogens including MRSA, Clostridium difficile (inc spores), E.coli and the norovirus.

danfloor recommends the use of Difficil-S® as part of a regular infection control programme. Difficil-S® should be used in areas that are at high risk of contamination eg. within areas where there is frequent movement of patients to and from hospital or where there has been an organic spill (i.e. blood, faeces or vomit). In addition to this Difficil-S® will not bleach the carpet and in killing bacteria will neutralise any unpleasant smells eg. urine.

The carpet should be cleaned daily with a vacuum cleaner, preferably one with a beater action. Instructions for the maintenance of carpets are available from danfloor upon request or can be downloaded from www.danfloor.co.uk . It is recommended that a maintenance schedule be initiated from the date of installation to achieve maximum life expectancy of the product. Chair pads are required under roller castor chairs to prevent accelerated wear and to preserve appearance retention.
