In 2007 Viking Laundry Equipment and
JHC Laundry Equipment merged to form Girbau UK, the UK operating
division of one of the largest manufacturers of commercial and
industrial laundry equipment in the world.
The worldwide Girbau Group has grown from a small business to
become a multinational, but still family-owned company with an
annual turnover expected to exceed 100 million in 2007. It has
four production centres, nine commercial branches around the
world, a distribution network covering more than 90 countries

Girbau UK customers have access to the most complete range of
products available from any supplier in the sector and what is

washers from 5kg to 110kg, tumble dryers up to 74kg, ironers
and, folders and stackers.
The company has invested heavily in people and equipment to
expand and further improve the service provided by its team of
highly trained CORGI registered engineers. It offers a 364-day
nationwide response service with an impressive 94% first time
fix record.
Girbau recognises the need and desire among customers to
minimise the environmental impact of laundry operations, while
also maintaining the highest standards of textile cleaning. All
new products under development by Girbau in Europe are designed
to minimise environmental impact and reduce energy consumption,
and thus carbon emissions.
The latest Girbau 6 Series of high speed (HS) washers is
available in three models with capacities of up to 8kg, 13kg and
17kg. The HS 6 series washers reach spin speeds of up to 1000rpm
and their wash process has been specifically designed to
optimise the use of water and energy, making them Girbau’s most
environmentally friendly ever. The 8kg model (HS-6008) has
already been named the most energy-efficient in its class,
according to Energy Star.
All the materials used in the manufacture of the washers are
also recyclable, but no sacrifice has been made in Girbau’s
renowned standards of robustness. The 6 series prototypes have
passed all the life tests they have been submitted to including
more than 40 million cycles.
